The Herb Farm was established in 1985 with the reconstruction on its present site of the picturesque 18th century timber framed barn transported from a farm south of Reading. This building formed the centre-piece of the specialist herb propagation and growing enterprise - the sale of herb and other home and garden products was introduced in 1989.
The Saxon Maze was opened in 1991, an attraction that has proved especially popular with families.
1999 saw the construction of the new purpose built timber-framed barn, skillfully and sympathetically blended with the structure of the old barn. This provided the additional space needed for improved shopping facilities, as well as more attractive and extensive displays of gifts and other products.
In 2003 The Orangery Coffee Shop was opened in the newly refurbished Conservatory where customers can enjoy an excellent service in relaxed and comfortable garden surroundings.
